About us

Special project of the QC government by virtue of City Council Resolution No. 577,series of 1991 Financial assistance to deserving students among underprivileged families in Quezon CityAimed to enhance educational and skilled manpower under the city’s development program.

The Office fundamentally operates on two general services, viz. providing the Quezon City Scholarship Program and employing youth development programs. The former is accomplished by extending financial assistance to the tertiary education of graduates of Quezon City public high schools and displaced students in college, especially those who are deserving yet economically challenged.

The latter is carried out by initiating consolidation of youth baseline data through continuous data gathering and study on the youth situation in Quezon City that serve as basis in the formulation of developmental youth agenda. It also implements projects and activities which develop social sensitivity such as  youth consultations, fora and symposia on issues involving the youth, outreach programs, organizing and networking with other youth organizations, among others.

 VISION

SYDP envisions a city which is modernized and progressive wherein the interests of the youth have primary importance i the development of the City. A City wherein youth are empowered and educated.

MISSION 

  1. To help the City government in addressing and minimizing the problem of out-of school youth.SYDP shall spearhead the promotion and implementation of Quezon City Scholarship Program that will provide better services especially to the deserving students among the economically disadvantaged families.
  2. SYDP shall pursue youth empowerment through leadership skills training and livelihood programs.
  3. Organize the youth into a broader network in order to promote active participation in governance.



OBJECTIVES

  1. To open opportunities to quality education.
  2. To minimize the number of displaced youth in the city.
  3. To upgrade literacy of the residents.
  4. To promote activities for youth development such as trainings, seminars and projects; and
  5. To attain the objective of the QC Government in promoting the advancement of Science and Technology.

SYDP Mandated Functions:

  •         Open the opportunities to quality education.
